Luke Wilson
Director of Engineering

Luke, a natural leader and veteran project manager from Birmingham, Alabama joined Tilray in March of 2014.   His background provides nearly a decade of progressive experience pertaining to engineering, construction, project management, and entrepreneurship/startups in the industrial and biotech space.  Luke’s family owned and operated a private engineering and construction company for 17 years where he developed the skills to juggle multiple projects, budgets, & customers in high pressure and demanding environments.  During this period, Luke spent a significant amount of time getting his engineering education from the school of “hard knocks.”  His father insisted that he and his brother take on the most difficult projects and customers, learning every trade from electrical and instrumentation, to piping, concrete, and steel.  It was over the course of many large, multifaceted projects that Luke had the opportunity to make the mistakes that lead to the knowledge this well rounded young professional has obtained today; many of his elder peers refer to Luke as “wise beyond his years.”  After completing a $30M pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Alabama, Luke took a contract position as Director of Facilities where he established Standard Operating Procedures for the Facilities and Maintenance staff, as well as held responsibility for the development and execution of an FDA/GMP compliant Preventative Maintenance program.  A couple of years and dozens of projects later, Mark Engineers Inc. was sold to Yates Constructors. After the sale of their family company Luke spent the next 2 years working as an Engineering Project Manager for Yates Constructors where he secured new business and executed a wide variety of capital projects in the heavy industrial and biotech markets.   Luke is responsible for managing a growing construction and engineering team, equipment/vendor research, driving capital projects from concept to completion, as well as developing teams & programs to operate new facilities.

Luke and his wife Lindsey have recently relocated to the Pacific North West.  Looking for adventure, they made the ~3500 mile trip with their dog, Charli, and two cats, Maui and Bonky.  As a southern gentleman and an Eagle Scout, Luke fancies himself a renaissance man and enjoys spending his spare time traveling with his wife or getting lost in the woods.
